Golden Tote February 2015 Tote #2

Rating: Love It!!!!
Cost: $49 or $149 tote (I'm reviewing the $49 tote)

I felt like I needed to order another Golden Tote this month. The coral skinny jeans were calling my name. They looked so good on everyone that bought them and modeled them on the Facebook Golden Tote Trading Group site. I couldn't resist, plus there were a couple surprises I had seen that I wanted to request. And my tote arrived yesterday!

The $49 tote usually contains two items, your chosen item and one surprise item. Here's a peek at what I got.

My chosen item was the coral skinny jeans. The Golden Tote website had suggested ordering a size smaller than you normally wear, because these run large. So, I took their advice and ordered one size down. And they fit great. I definitely think my normal size would have been too big in the waist. These have a lot of stretch to them. They are a bright color, perfect for spring. And looking at them makes me so happy!

My surprise item was a Le Sample blouse that I had seen many people receive in their totes and fell in love with! This shirt looked amazing on everyone, so I requested it when I ordered this tote. I was so happy they included it. It fits perfectly slouchy and I love the color. It will be a perfect shirt to wear now with a cardigan, and alone in the spring/summer. Sorry I didn't take pictures on myself for this post, but there are many reviews of February totes on the Golden Tote Trading Group Facebook site. The people modeling the clothes are looking fabulous!

This tote was exactly what I wanted, so I was very happy! Golden Tote has made me expand my clothing budget each month, because there are so many pieces I can't resist. I keep thinking I'm going to skip a month, but I always talk myself into needing something. Tote day is Monday March 2nd and I can't wait. So far there is another great month of spoilers and so much that I already want!!! Check out the Golden Tote Facebook site to see the spoilers for March.

BarkBox February 2015

Rating: Love It!!!!
Cost: $29/month

I received my BarkBox around the 15th of the month as usual, but I am late reviewing it, sorry. This month's box had a Mardi Gras theme, and I wasn't too sure what to expect. The box is filled with Bourbon Street inspired flavors and festivities!

I love the packaging for BarkBox. So, here's a couple pictures.

And a sneak peek of what was inside the box.

BarkBox always includes an information card explaining the theme and the contents of the box.

The first item included in the box was Harry Barker Mardi Gras Crinkle Mask. The retail price is $10. This is an adorable toy, that I definitely wouldn't be able to find in any store. It was custom made by Harry Barker for BarkBox. My puppy loves it!

We also received Think! Dog Crawfish Jerky. These are soft and savory snacks made from natural ingredients in the US. My puppy has been very picky about his snacks lately. He sniffed these for a while before giving them a try. But when he tried them he wanted more, so he really liked them!

The Aussie Naturals Salmon Quarter Cigar was not something our puppy would try. He looked at it and walked away and never went back to it. He avoided it for the whole day, so we decided to pass this on to another puppy friend who loved it and ate it right up. Like I said, our puppy is picky, but I think most dogs would be a fan of this American sock-eye salmon skin chew.

The Delca Jester Ball was our puppy's favorite item in the box. The retail price was $7. This has a bumpy textured ball inside, which was a nice change from most of his soft filled toys. He's been searching for and carrying this toy around, since it arrived in his box.

The final item included was PetSafe Catfish Po'Boy with Chicken. These arrived in an air tight bag and say to refrigerate them after opening, and consume within 3 days. My puppy hasn't tried these yet, so I'm not sure what he'll think of them. It does say even the pickiest pooches will love these treats, so we'll see.

I love all the items we receive from BarkBox and my puppy has liked most of them. He loves all the toys for sure, but a few of the treats we've had to pass on to other less picky pups, which is fine, because we get a lot of treats in these boxes. I think March will be our final BarkBox. We'll be taking a break for a while, because we have an abundance of treats and toys right now. But I still can't wait to see what we get in March!

Golden Tote February 2015

Rating: Love It!!!!
Cost: $49 or $149 tote (I'm reviewing the $149 tote)

I received my February Golden Tote this week. The chosen items for February were great, so I couldn't resist getting a large tote. And then seeing the clothes on others I also ordered a $49 tote this month, but I haven't received it yet. I've been going a bit overboard with Golden Tote lately because I have a weakness for clothes and Golden Tote always provides an amazing deal. And even if I receive items that are not me, I can usually trade them on the Facebook Golden Tote Trading Group site.

Here is a peek at the tote bag that Golden Tote designed for February. They also started using adorable stickers to put the stylist who curated your tote. I love them!!!

And here is a peek at what I saw inside the tote! I was definitely liking the color I was seeing!!!

I'm going to apologize now for my pictures in this review. We have not had much sun lately, so my pictures are quite dark plus I tried to take them myself this month, which I'm not very good at. Sorry in advance if you can't see all the details of my outfits.

With the $149 tote, you choose two items and then you receive 3-5 surprise items. The first item I selected was the Alexa Dress by Le Lis in black/beige. I loved the style of this dress with long sleeves and a pleated skirt. This will make dressing for work easy and with the winters in upstate NY, I knew I would be able to wear this for a few more months before we start getting warmer weather. I also added on a tassel belt, that I'm wearing in this photo, but it will be difficult to see because the ivory sold out real quick and I was only able to snag black. I know I'll get lots of wear out of the black though! And this dress is very comfy and adorable! I love it!!!

The other item I selected was the Webbed Trim Tunic by Collective Concepts in navy. I was a little nervous that ordering my normal size small was not the right choice, because this looked like it ran large. It also sold out very quickly so there was no chance I could order a smaller size. Luckily when I tried it on, it fit great, a bit blousy, but I liked it a lot. This blouse is great! I love the detailing that makes it unique and it can be worn tucked in or not. It will also look great with skirts, dress pants, jeans, or whatever. I love the versatility! Golden Tote also offered mint skinny jeans as one of the selected items this month, which looked amazing with this top. I thought about ordering them, but then remembered I own mint colored cords, that are pictured below.

Ok, now for the surprises! The first surprise I received was a Lime & Chili grey dress with plaid shoulders and cuffs. This dress is really comfy and feels like I'm wearing an over-sized t-shirt. It looks cute worn as a dress, but I think I may also wear it with skinny jeans or leggings as a tunic too. I was very happy with this dress and know I'll wear it!!!

The next surprise I received was a Grifflin Paris top in navy. This is different from anything I own. It looks like a patterned sweatshirt, but it's actually a blouse material. I decided to try to style it with a skirt. I actually really like this shirt (many people are trading them on the Facebook Golden Tote Trading Group)! I think it will be great with jeans or skirts and I was happy to receive it!!!

I also received a Lime & Chili coral striped shirt. I love the swing style shirts and this one has cute button details and an asymmetric hem that I really like. It's very comfy and I know I'll wear it all the time. I was so happy I received this in the coral color, because I love bright, cheery colors, especially when winter is seeming too long!

The final item I received was one I was a bit unsure of at first. It is a Newbury Kustom shirt in green. At first I thought with the cut of this shirt and color, it would look like I was wearing scrubs. I liked the color, but didn't want to be mistaken for a nurse. The material is very soft and this shirt fits great, so I decided to style it with a tweed jacket and statement necklace to look more polished. I love it!!! I will definitely wear this and hopefully people won't assume I'm wearing scrubs.

I was very happy with every item in my tote this month and I decided I will not be trading anything. I also ordered another $49 tote this month with the coral skinny jeans as my chosen item and begged for a couple surprise items I've seen and love! I'll review it later in the month when I receive it. It hasn't shipped yet.

Golden Tote also had items available in the beginning of the month for Valentine's Day and of course there were a few things I couldn't resist. The first item I had to have was this t-shirt by Chris & Carol. I felt the need to declare my love of Golden Tote to the world. And this shirt is very comfy, so I'll wear it lots!

I also purchased this navy Heart on Your Sleeve cardigan by Moon Collection. I needed a new navy cardigan and I couldn't resist the heart elbow patches. I wore this for Valentine's Day, but I'll also keep wearing this all year long.

I really need to slow down on my spending at Golden Tote, but I have been loving everything lately, and it's so difficult to control my shopping addiction. I'm a bit worried about seeing what they offer for March, because I'd like to take a break for a month, but I know I won't be able to.

Birchbox February 2015 Rent the Runway Box

Rating: Love It!!!!
Cost: $10/month

I received my February Birchbox and this month I knew exactly what would be in it, because I chose the Rent the Runway curated box. I was excited about everything included in this box! But this month was really difficult to choose a sample, because I was also interested in all of the individual samples you could choose for this month. I hope I get a chance to try some of the other offerings later.

This month coupons were given to every subscriber for Rent the Runway. I'm not sure I have the need for a special occasion dress anytime soon, so I probably won't be using my coupon. Here is a peek at what the box looked like.

I loved the floral pattern, so here's a picture of the side of the box.

Birchbox always includes an information card explaining everything included in the box.

The first item included was Derma E Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic Scrub. This is a natural cleanser that sloughs off dull skin, fades dark spots, and cleans pores. This worked well with one use. I'm not sure it's my favorite facial cleanser scrub I've ever tried, but it seems to work fine. It does have a perfumed scent to it that I am not too fond of.

The next item included was Fekkai Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo. This transparent spray absorbs oil, perks up strands, and leaves hair smelling amazing. This works similar to all the other dry shampoos I've tried.

I was most excited to try the Not Soap, Radio Body Wash in The Stuff that Cupid dips his arrows in. This has a blackberry and vanilla scent that I love! And this made my skin really smooth. I love it!!!

I also received an item I have tried before in a previous Birchbox, but I loved it, so I didn't mind getting another. It was Sumita Color Contrast Eyeliner. I love the rich blue color of this eyeliner. It really makes my blue eyes pop. It's my favorite eyeliner for sure!!!

The final item included was theBalm Read My Lips. I don't really need more lip gloss. I have lots. This has a nice neutral color and shine to it and I love the packaging! This is a great size to throw in my purse to have on hand when I need a bit of shine!

I knew what I would be getting in my Birchbox this month, since I chose the curated box this month, so I knew I would be happy with what I received. I did miss the surprise of not knowing what to expect this month though.

Popsugar Must Have February 2015

Rating: Love It!!!!
Cost: $39.95/month

I received my February Popsugar Must Have box yesterday. It seemed very early this month, which I was really happy about. Normally by the time I've received my box, I've seen lots of reviews and know what is in it already, but this month it was early, so it was a surprise. I've been so happy with the Popsugar Must Have boxes the past couple months, so I couldn't wait to see what we would get for February.

The inspiration for February was one love, hearts and arrows, red hot, devine desserts, and pampering. Here is a first look.

Popsugar always includes an information card explaining everything in the box. I knew immediately by the card that this was another great box. I couldn't wait to dig in.

And here is a glance at everything included.

The first item included in the box was Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in True Love. I needed new blush, so I was thrilled this was included. Plus I love the Tarte Cosmetics line. And this looks like the perfect shade for my pale skin. I'm going to start using it immediately.

The next item was U.S. Apothecary Rose Water Bubble Bath. I love the packaging of this. It's in a glass soda bottle size container. And I love rose scented bath products, so this was definitely a hit. I can't wait to take a bubble bath with this!

The next item was my favorite thing in this month's box and was designed exclusively for Popsugar Must Have. It's an ACME Party Box Company Bamboo Heart Cutting Board & Cheese Knife. We are remodeling our kitchen and I really want to have a cheese and wine party when it is finished, so this will be perfect! I love that Popsugar includes items I wouldn't normally think of. Plus the red cheese knife is cute! And it came in an adorable burlap storage bag. This would be adorable for Valentine's Day entertaining!

I also received a Bauble Bar Mini Arrow Pendant Necklace in silver. Some people may receive different metals according to the information card. In my profile I put silver as my preference, so I was very happy to get silver. It seems like normally everyone receives the same metal, and it's generally gold, so to see a silver item really excited me. This is perfectly my style also! I love dainty jewelry and this has some sparkle with the pave crystals. This is definitely going to be something I wear daily. Plus it's perfect for Valentine's Day, so I was happy I received my box early this month!

Another item included was Figs & Rouge 100% Natural Lip Balm in Pomegranate. The flavors may vary according to the information card. I'm happy I received pomegranate, because it sounds yummy. I always welcome lip balm, because I go through it like crazy in the winter months. And balm in a tin seems to be more moisturizing than the sticks. And I love the packaging too!

For the treat this month a Chuao Chocolatier Ravishing Rocky Road Bar was included. This looks amazing! It's made with salted, caramelized almonds and fluffy marshmallows. Yummy!!! My 2 year old daughter wanted to open this up right away and eat it, but we're saving it for a treat after dinner!

A special extra was also included this month! It was Sally Beauty FingerPaints Nail Color. I received Pink Imagination, but the colors included may vary according to the information card. This is a beautiful light pink with some sparkle to it and I love it! With just one coat, FingerPaints' innovative formula gives you intense colo, durable shine, and a long-lasting finish! My 2 year old saw this in the box and grabbed it and insisted I paint her nails, so I did, and also painted mine. I love light pink nail polish, because it is neutral enough to wear every day for just a hint of color and sparkle. It looked adorable on my 2 year old also. Too bad we both smudged our nails before they were dry. But I am very impressed by the one coat application. It was enough to completely coat the nail flawlessly. Now if only I could stay still long enough to let the nails dry completely. That's something I'll need to work on.

I loved this Popsugar Must Have box! It felt very fitting for the month of February, with all the packaging and items very fitting for Valentine's Day! It felt very girly and the perfect mix of items. I think this may be one of my favorite boxes yet. And I know I'll be using absolutely everything that was included. I can't wait to see what they come up with for March!
